Feeling over connected? Spring clean your online world

How are you feeling about your online world right now? Remember. You are in control of what you read, see and hear from your online world. What you are seeing, you probably chose at some point, like subscribing to these letters.

I have been having a little spring clean this week. Felt like a good time. A cleanse of my online world. More than ever, my online space feels like an extension of my home right now. As I’m not inviting anyone into my home, I want to be very selective about who I invite into my online home. Thinking of it this way reminds me that I have control over how I feel when I consume content. I want people around me who I feel add value to my life in some way. Maybe it’s a new perspective, something useful, something joyful, fun, entertaining, maybe informative, creative or challenging. But I get to decide.

We don’t need to add any drama or anything that drains our energy right now. It’s taking all of our energy to keep ourselves afloat, so don’t waste your precious resources.

Now is the time to find your tribe.

I want to be with people who want to be with me. I want to know that when I send these letters or share my thoughts on Instagram that people feel a connection in some way, and if not I would rather they unfollow me.

If you are feeling ‘over connected’ right now, take a look at where you are spending your energy. You don’t have to read every post, watch every video and join in every zoom gathering. You have a choice. Curate your online home, it’s your space to fill with the things that bring you home to yourself.
