You are not running out of time
I used to worry I was running out of time. I would think I should be 'further ahead' in my business, in how much money I was making etc. I would look at people younger than me and feel envious of their 'success', and wonder how did they get there so soon! I thought I was slow, a late bloomer, or maybe I just procrastinate too much, don't take enough action.
It's been a long road, but I now believe in my bones that 'I am right on time'. I completely know that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I can now say, with a smile, that everything has led me to this point, and there is no place I would rather be.
The thing is, we can so easily compare our path, story, life to other people. The truth is, nobody knows what has led you to this point in time. Nobody knows the struggle, the privilege, the setbacks, the decisions you've made or not made. Only you know that.
Feeling like you're running out of time is sneaky. You might not be saying this to yourself. It might feel like a sense of urgency in your belly. I used to notice it when I was washing the dishes. I would be rushing. There would be a sense that I needed to be somewhere else, doing something else. My body would be reacting as if there was a ticking time bomb next to the sink!
My nervous system was stuck in survival mode, even when it really didn't need to be. I was living in a body that was hypervigilant. For many reasons it had been wired that way over a long time. I had to learn to switch the gears of my nervous system, so that I felt safe, so that I could relax, so that I could not feel that sense of urgency anymore.
Now when I catch that sneaky feeling from time to time, I pause, I breathe and in seconds I am back home. Safe in my body, knowing 'I am right on time'. There is nowhere to be, nowhere to get to, just me, here, on my own path, in my own time.
This sense of urgency you might be feeling, can consume your days, you energy and steal your joy. AND it is possible for you to not feel that. It is possible for you to feel at ease in your body.
If you are ready to feel more at home in your body, I am opening up spaces for 1-1 coaching with me over the next 3 months. I have a ton of ways to support you to feel calmer and more at ease with yourself. I know from personal and professional experience that this can take time. We need to unlearn and heal old patterns of pain that are stuck in our system and gently rewire our body and mind to enjoy who we are and the world around us. If you're here for that (I know I am!), then you can book in a 'getting to know each other' call, where we can chat and decide if working together would be a good thing for you.
