Life is a dancefloor

You may or may not know, but I love good soulful house music. I love dancing. I love the feeling of being on a dancefloor where everyone is there for the music. There's no need for chat, we all know we are communicating and connecting through music.

During the first lockdown, there were a lot of kitchen discos at our house (I know there was for others too), and one song that will remind me of the summer of 2020 is this - Life is a dancefloor by The Shapeshifters. In fact, we loved it so much that we got a pink neon sign made for our lounge!

I love the sentiment of this song because it really does feel like life is a dancefloor.

Sometimes life is a really sparkly, uplifting, euphoric dancefloor, where I get lost in the rhythm of life and feel completely in my groove.

AND

Sometimes it's one of those sticky, grotty ones, where my feet stick to the floor kinda dancefloors (we've all been there right..), where the tunes are just not my vibe and I'm waiting for the track to change.

Our job is to just keep dancing.

The tunes will change.

The people will come and go.

The lights will come on, and we can choose a different dancefloor.

We will find our groove again.

Just keep dancing.
