What does being BOLD mean to you

What does being ‘bold’ mean to you?

Standing out? Being controversial? Eccentric? A rebel? Someone who speaks their mind.

These might spring to mind when you think of the term bold.

Here’s what being bold means to me….

  • Someone who trusts themselves enough to follow their own path regardless of what the outside world believes to be the right path to follow.

  • Bold is being comfortable in your own skin.

  • Bold is resisting the ‘busy’.

  • Bold is choosing joy.

  • Bold can be quiet and powerful.

  • Bold is choosing kindness over niceness.

  • Bold is sharing your gifts with the world.

  • Bold is asking for help.

  • Bold is accepting yourself, even the parts you don’t like.

  • Bold is to dream.

  • Bold is to rest.

  • Bold is to question to way things are done.

  • Bold is saying yes to yourself first.

  • Bold is dressing up for no reason at all.

  • Bold is playing BEFORE work.

  • Bold is prioritising your emotional health.

  • Bold is doing things because they make you happy.

  • Bold is creating positive disruptions.

We aren’t bold because we are TRYING to be bold, or because we are ‘fearless’. It’s bold because we are consciously making choices from a place of trust and not unconsciously following THE path. That’s why it’s bold.

It stands out.

It’s not ‘the norm’.

It takes courage and commitment to trust ourselves. It’s not something we are taught, we have to nurture our self-trust, and when we do that’s when we feel truly alive.

To live a life on your own terms IS bold, but what that looks like is down to you.
